An X-PEN - Can be A VALUABLE TOOL

I can't rave enough about how wonderful, and what an exceptionally useful tool an x-pen can be for your new puppy. I for one am against caging animals, and refuse to keep my dogs confined unless absolutely necessary. However these handy little units are not like your typical cage or kennel. For those that don't already know what an x-pen is, please see pictures below. They are usually an open top & bottom unit, built with 4 to 8 connected 2 foot wide panels that can contort or fold into several variations or shapes. 2x6  4x4  & rectangle are just 3 of the many configurations or shapes you can build with it. The panels can be arranged to accommodate almost any corner or space in a room.  They come in several different heights ranging from 12 inches up to 5 foot tall.

Your puppy has already left our home accustomed to sleeping in this environment at night, so he should adapt & easily take to it at your home right away. Not only will your puppy feel exceptionally safe & secure in 'his own' environment, but it will keep him safe from chewing on electrical cords or other harmful objects when you aren't there for monitoring. The pen also allows for easy pee-pad training, and keeps puppy from being under foot or in harms way when the house hold is busy. If the door is left open for puppy to roam once older, you'll find he goes in on his own to sleep, or will run for the security of his pen when intimidated by loud noises etc. These pens collapse & are portable as well, so they can be used for outdoors. Great for taking to outdoor events, including camping & sports games. So yes, an X-pen is an extremely good investment for any puppy or small dog owner.
